Using the tool provided, remove the battery compartment cap by turning in counterclockwise direction. Install / Remove the CR1632 lithium battery. If replacing the battery, ensure that only a quality lithium battery is used to guarantee battery life and operability. The “+” side should face upwards. Replace the battery compartment cap. Be careful not to cross-thread to avoid damage to the threads.

POWERING ON

Press the  button to turn on the optic.

MOTION ACTIVATION

This dot optic features an automatic timeout and motion sensitive “Awaken” feature. If the optic is not bumped or moved for 225 seconds, the dot will turn off and the optic will enter a low power state, extending battery life. When the optic is bumped or moved, the dot will rapidly power on.

POWERING OFF

The optic can be completely powered off by holding the   button for three seconds. NOTE: This is a complete power off that disables the motion-sensitive “wake” function. This is recommended for long term storage, or travel when the optic is not being used.

BRIGHTNESS CONTROL

This dot optic is equipped with multiple brightness settings. Use the    and   buttons to quickly toggle through the different brightness levels. Always select the lowest brightness setting that still provides good contrast against the target. The higher brightness settings should only be used in bright daylight (otherwise, the dot may have a halo effect). The optic will remember the last brightness setting used when powered off and when turned back on, will come back to it.

MOUNTING THE OPTIC

This optic should always be mounted to your gun through the service of a qualified gunsmith unless you are confident with your skill. Note: this optic utilizes the same mounting system as Trijicon ® RMR ® / SRO sights and mounting adapters (two pins and two #6-32 screws). This product is designed to only work with RMR two pin or no pin RMR post style optic cut slides. It will not fit 4 in style optic cut slides. To mount this optic on the slide of an optics-ready handgun, remove the cover plate (on the slide, if included), to expose the mounting surface and screw holes. Install the included CR 1632 battery into the top of the optic. Locate the included screws that fit your particular slide and add some blue Loctite or similar temporary thread lock.

WARNING: NEVER use red Loctite or permanent thread lock or your slide mount screws may be permanently damaged and require drilling and tapping! Install both screws and use supplied hex wrench’s or equivalent to tighten screws to slide. We recommend between 12-15 in/lbs. If Glock MOS, or any other platform that requires an adapter (refer to your handgun operation manual for more details), install adaptor plate per that products instructions and then install SAMARITAN 2 on top of the adaptor plate.

NOTE: Always verify the distance between the screw and the extractor depressor plunger underneath the optic screw hole in the slide. After installation and with an unloaded weapon, verify function of weapon. After safely firing the weapon, verify the tightness of the mounting screws.

PARALLAX

This optic has been carefully set to have a minimum parallax at 33 yards. At distances significantly greater than 33 yards, some parallax may be observed. To reduce the possibility of a point of impact (POI) shift caused by parallax, the reticle should be kept in the middle 2/3 of the field of view when aiming.

 RETICLE ELEVATION AND WINDAGE ADJUSTMENTS

This optic uses a 3-MOA dot reticle. The elevation and windage dials of this optic are adjustable with audible clicks. Each click will move the point of impact 1 Minute of Angle (MOA), closely correspond to 1 inch at 100 yards, 1/2 inch at 50 yards. Always select the lowest brightness setting that still provides good contrast against the target. The higher brightness settings should only be used in bright daylight (otherwise, the dot may have a halo effect).

ZEROING

Please note that the reticle has been preset at the factory to be aligned with the mounting base of the sight. Only minor windage and elevation adjustments should be required. If significant adjustments are necessary, please make sure the optic is properly mounted. This is not a defect of the optic. Adjustable mounting bases (or shims) may be required for certain weapons. If possible, a bore-sighting device should be used for rough alignment of the optic to the weapon. After properly mounting the optic to the weapon, fire a 3-shot group and observe the point of impact using an average of the group. Initial zeroing at shorter ranges is recommended before fine-tuning the optic for longer ranges. Using a small flathead screwdriver, set the elevation dial (top of optic) and the windage dial (side of optic) to adjust the alignment of the optic. The direction noted refers to the movement of the point of impact. Each hash mark on either of the adjustment dials represents one minute-of-angle (MOA). Fire another group to confirm the zero of the optic. Repeat as necessary.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

After using the optic, dust, dirt, and gunpowder residue blowback can accumulate on the lens. We recommend blowing away the material and then wiping it down with lens cleaner / lens wipes. These are commonly found in eyeglass care sections of stores or online.

STORAGE

Your optic should be stored in a cool and dry place. Take out the battery from the battery compartment if the optic is to be stored for an extended period of time.

OPTIC IS NOT USER SERVICEABLEDO NOT attempt to disassemble any components of the reflex optic. Disassembling or modifying the optic will void warranty.
